So said Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Le Thi Thu Hang on the summit planned for February 27 and 28 in Vietnam. She was replying to a question for Vietnam’s comment on US President Donald Trump’s remark in his latest State of the Union address on the upcoming summit.

Vietnam stands ready to actively contribute to and cooperate with relevant sides to ensure the success for the second US-DPRK summit, thus helping achieve the above-mentioned goal, the official concluded.

Trump met with Kim for the first time in Singapore in June, reaching several consensuses that have led to the improvement of the US-DPRK relations.

However, differences between the two sides remain over key issues including the scale of denuclearization, US sanctions on the DPRK and whether to issue a war-ending declaration./.
